I am obsessed with good quality food.

My philosophy is simple, make everything here using quality local ingredients where possible. We use butter not margarine, Australian ham, cage free eggs, locally grown vegetables and fruit (where we can). We keep the use of food additives and preservatives to an absolute minimum.

We stew our own fruit and make our own jams, relish and tartare sauce. We also use locally produced jams and chutneys in our dishes.

Someone said in a review that our presentation was simple. Yes, it is. I focus on the food and the taste, if you want a perfectly round cookie, you shall have to go elsewhere.

The best way to produce good food is to use local producers, use my own garden and not scrimp on the minor ingredients, we produce the best food in the world so we celebrate it.

We support local, small businesses, our honey is from just up the road, so too are the walnuts we use in a lot of our dishes. Our olive oil is from Barfold Olives, our wine is all locally sourced (and delicious) and our beer is from Palling Bros in Heathcote. We also sell locally produced jams and chutneys from a variety of local producers.

Café Budburst stocks a variety of gifts sourced locally, we also have an amazing library of cookbooks for sale at only $15 a book.
